A husband and wife team, recently retired from careers in the design, construction and service industries that span four decades, we are serving a select number of clients as Design-Build Criteria Architects and Owners Technical Representatives

Sharon Rawlins, President

Project success is measured by results. Positive results occur when all of the diverse parties involved in a project each keep their commitments to one another. The business of having an entire team keeping their mutual promises requires proactive, tenacious leadership.

As President of the Rawlins Group, LLC, Sharon is also our Chief Accountability Officer. She is responsible for creating and maintaining a project culture of mutual trust, respect, understanding, ownership and responsibility so that each individual on the project remains accountable to the success of the team.

She has a cultivated skill in working with people to achieve results by keeping them focused on their commitments and removing roadblocks to success. She protects the integrity of the team and keeps the project on track by ensuring everyone does what they promised to do within the time allotted for them to do it.

Sharon earned a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Illinois. Her four-decade career spans from medical office administrative support to Church ministry. She spent nearly 20 years as Director of Children's Ministry, recruiting & managing a team of over 100 volunteers, where she honed her skills on securing reliable promises to help people achieve what they never thought they could do.

Dan Rawlins, RA, DBIA

Dan is a registered Architect and a DBIA Certified Design-Build Professional with over 40 years experience in the planning, design and construction of all types of projects. With over 400 projects completed, including schools, criminal justice facilities, research facilities, office buildings and a zoo, he brings the diverse technical knowledge and expertise needed for any project, large or small.

He has seen projects from the perspective of Architect, Owner and Contractor, and using virtually every form of project delivery. He is particularly adept in the early phases of project planning: Identifying the right scope, budget, schedule and project delivery method. He keeps close attention to detail for complete follow-through during the design, construction, close-out and post occupancy phases.

He is an industry recognized thought leader for Best Practices in Design-Build Project Delivery. He has served as DBIA's National Tools and Resources Task Force. He is one of DBIA's Continuing Education Program Instructors and has helped to author several of their courses. He received the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indiana Association of Trade Professionals (TAP). As a Design-Criteria Architect, he has prepared Owner's Project Criteria and guided Owners through the Design-Builder selection process on more than 100 Design-Build projects valued at more than $1 Billion. He has also served as Design Architect of Record and Design Manager within Design-Build Teams on projects as large as $300,000,000.
